The vampire diaries show?

hey so i just started watching the vampire diaries on my laptop because i hear it was good im up to season 1 episode 14 does katherine come back in any of the coming episodes? and does damon elena or stefan die in the season finale? my friends told me that one of them did. pleease answer meeee!!! thanks in advance :)
